On a roll...

with my third layout of the day...  this one is for Sketches in Thyme and I went way back for this picture of me with my sweet MIL... we have been scrapping buddies since I married her son 12 years ago so she can be partly to blame for my addiction ;)  seriously I love her like my own mother and love that we can share this together!!!

One Crazy Family

I am back with a little more scrappiness... now that Christmas is over I may actually have some extra time to get back to scrapbooking... one of my goals for next year is to be more involved and productive with challenges and blogging and putting myself out there for some design teams.

So to start off my resolution a little early I have this layout from Let's Get Sketchy of my ever so crazy family... it is a tradition for us to make silly pictures whenever we do a family shot.  I found this great paper from MME, Lime Twist in my stash from 2011 (yeesh!!) - which that is another goal, reduce my stash - and thought it would be great for these pictures.

Christmas craftiness..

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa brought you everything you wanted :)

I have actually found some time to do a couple of layouts with some pics I found while cleaning up my craft room.

This layout is of my oh so cute nephews from last Christmas using the sketch from Scrapmuch... I was lucky enough to get them to take a pic with me but they would never sit together.. go figure with 2 year olds!!!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #283

So in my effort to get back into the scrappy world of challenges and design teams I found one of my favorite sketch sites, Creative Scrappers, where they post sketches every couple of weeks.

I loved this sketch and it worked perfect with Doodlebug's new Christmas line, Santa Express and I knew this picture of my nephews would be super cute in the middle of it. ;)

here are a couple of close ups where I popped a few of the elements and added some stickles for sparkle.

Christmas PJ's

Since the twins have been born I have given them Christmas pajamas each year, but since I have gotten the sewing bug I decided to make them this year,

I found this cute Riley Blake fabric in red and green and knew it would be perfect, cause even though they are twins, we don't like them to match exactly.  I found the baseball jerseys at Old Navy and they were a perfect match.

It was exciting for me because they wanted to put them on and wear them right away, so now I have to get busy on the ones I am giving them for Christmas.  I did have great plans to make pj pants for everyone in the family, but it takes me a little bit of time to get these done, so maybe next year!!  LOL

Trying out...

Sending off an application today for a design team... happily nervous about it...  will keep ya'll posted...

Hopefully getting ready for Turkey Day and Black Friday shopping will keep my mind from thinking about it too much..  reminds me of jr high cheerleading tryouts and waiting to hear your name called out... and then your name doesn't get called and OH the tears that are shed... but now I can see that God had better ideas so that is what I have to remember with this...

December Daily sneak peak

I love Christmas time!!! And I love doing December daily albums, well at least making them, I have yet to actually finish any of the DD I have started...  LOL (and this is one of the few Christmas things I do before Turkey Day... can't stand how early Christmas starts now, but that is another post)

I was lucky enough to go to one of the small CHA events this summer in Atlanta and saw this line by Simple Stories and knew right away that this was going to be this year's DD.  So if you are free next Saturday, Nov. 22 call Paulette at The Scrapbook Princess and sign up!!

Here I go again...

So I am going to try this blogging deal again..

I am really wanting to dedicate more time to my craftiness and at the prodding of my ever favorite enabler/scrap store owner Paulette at The Scrapbook Princess I want to try my luck at some design team entries.

It has been a while since I have done the whole design team thing and not necessarily because I didn't want to but... I didn't get chosen for a few and well it hurt my feelings.  I felt like what I was doing wasn't good, trendy, pretty, fascinating (enter whatever adjective you would like) enough and it took me a while to realize that just because I didn't get picked, didn't mean my layouts were bad by any means, they just may not have been what was being looked for.

So with that being said I am working on a couple of projects for a DT submission and with that means I need to get back to blogging about my projects, which may not only be scrappy ones, but my new found hobby of sewing and craftiness in general.

Be on the lookout there is no telling what you might see...
